let's talk about math, baby!
Okay, so as I delve into the world of blogging...I could use some help! As a first year (and first grade!) teacher, I feel very comfortable teaching reading. It's my strength. I'm so proud of my kiddos- where they came from, and where they are! However, I am NOT strong in teaching math- I don't always feel like I do it well, and I'm worried about number sense in general. So, how do YOU teach math? What does your math period look like? Any tips or units you couldn't live without?

Thanks, Michelle! I can't wait to get into your blog!!
ReplyDeleteWell you already know of my hatred for math... So maybe I shouldn't share? I think the firsties at my school are ability-grouped for math and they mostly do center-activities. I actually don't have a strong handle on math myself and am not sure I've ever seen it taught correctly.
